KCETB announced as new partner of The Powerhouse Network

Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board (KCETB) has been announced as a new partner of The Powerhouse Network in Carlow. At an event celebrating International Women’s Day, the inclusion of KCETB as a partner in The Powerhouse Network marks a strategically significant milestone for the initiative and for women in business across Carlow and the wider region.

KCETB’s involvement strengthens the network’s core mission by bringing enhanced access to education, skills development, and lifelong learning opportunities, critical components in empowering women entrepreneurs and professionals to thrive.

As a leading provider of further education and training, KCETB adds depth to the network’s learning pillar, ensuring that women at every stage of their business journey can access the upskilling, expertise, and practical supports they need to grow with confidence.

For KCETB, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing gender equality, elevating women’s voices, and creating pathways for women to achieve their full potential in business and leadership. It demonstrates the collective determination of Carlow’s key organisations to drive real, meaningful progress for women, celebrating their achievements while actively investing in their future.

Chief Executive Dr. Lindsay Malone said, “KCETB is delighted to join The Powerhouse Network at such a pivotal moment for women in business across our region. This partnership is strategically important, not only because it strengthens the supports available to women entrepreneurs, but because it aligns directly with our mission to foster skills, innovation, and economic resilience in Carlow and its surrounding communities. By working alongside our regional partners, we are ensuring that women have increased access to learning pathways, professional development, and the confidence-building opportunities that drive real, long-term growth. Announcing this collaboration to coincide with International Women’s Day reinforces our shared commitment to advancing equality, championing women’s leadership, and building a more inclusive and dynamic regional economy.”

Head of Economic Development and Enterprise at Carlow County Council, Kieran Comerford said “Carlow County Council, through the Local Enterprise Office, is absolutely delighted to announce the strategic expansion of the Powerhouse partnership in collaboration with the Kilkenny Carlow ETB. At the heart of our mission is the belief that robust partnership is the primary engine for economic resilience; by aligning our vision with the Kilkenny Carlow ETB, alongside the expertise of SETU, Carlow Chamber, Carlow Library, and Carlow Kilkenny Skillnets, we are creating a powerful ecosystem of support. This multi-agency approach allows us to diversify our resources and provide a truly holistic suite of services tailored specifically for female-led owner-managers across the region. Our collective goal is to foster an environment where women in business can support one another, find the inspiration to scale new heights, and engage in continuous learning to ensure long-term success in an ever-evolving marketplace.”
