Dr. Lindsay Malone appointed as Chief Executive at Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board

Dr. Lindsay Malone appointed as Chief Executive at Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board

 

Dr Lindsay Malone has been appointed as the Chief Executive of Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board, following a Public Appointments Service recruitment competition.

Speaking of her appointment, Dr. Malone said: “It is a privilege to be appointed Chief Executive of Kilkenny and Carlow ETB. Education, training and youth services play such a vital role in shaping opportunity and strengthening our communities, and I look forward to working with learners, staff, and partners to build on the excellent work already underway. Together, we can continue to grow an inclusive, innovative and responsive ETB that meets the needs of people across both counties as well as being a transformative organisation that delivers on the future skills needs for the region.”

Lindsay is passionate about lifelong learning, social justice, widening participation, inclusion and access to higher and further education. Lindsay previously held the role of Director of Further Education and Training with Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board (WWETB).

 

Prior to that, Lindsay was Deputy Head of Faculty of Lifelong Learning at SETU Carlow. With twenty years of leadership and management experience across various sectors, Lindsay has also lectured across Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts programmes for almost a decade.

Chairperson of KCETB Board Andrea Dalton said, “On behalf of the Board of Kilkenny and Carlow ETB, I would like to extend our best wishes to Dr Malone for every success in this pivotal role of leading, directing and managing the ETB.”

From Tramore, Co. Waterford, Lindsay is a lifelong learner who holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Applied Social Studies (Professional Social Care), a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning in Further and Higher Education, a Master of Arts in Child, Youth and Family Studies a PhD in Education and Social Justice with Lancaster University.
