Public Sector Human Rights and Equality Duty
KCETB is committed to the development of a systematic approach to its Public Sector Human Rights and Equality Duty across all the pillars of the organisation. This is in line with the recommendations of Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC) Act 2014 for public bodies which aims to translate the duty to everyday practice.
Section 42(2) of the 2014 Act
42. (1) A public body shall, in the performance of its functions, have regard to the need to—
(a) eliminate discrimination,
(b) promote equality of opportunity and treatment of its staff and the persons to whom it provides services, and
(c) protect the human rights of its members, staff and the persons to whom it provides services.
In line with the Irish Human Rights and Equality Act (2014), for 2026 KCETB has published a Strategic Objectives and Action plan for 2026-2027 in line with the requirements of the Duty as set out in Section 42(2) of the 2014 Act.
