Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board elects new chairperson
On Tuesday 3 September 2024 the members of Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board (KCETB) selected Cllr. Andrea Dalton as their new chairperson. At the first full meeting of the new board the members and executive team thanked the outgoing chair Cllr. Fergal Browne for his stewardship over the previous two years and acknowledged his support for the many activities of Kilkenny and Carlow ETB, including its ten year celebrations.
Cllr. Dalton was warmly congratulated by the board members and the executive team and wished well during her term. A native of Carlow, with a strong background in community based education through her work in St. Catherine’s Community Services Centre, and her role as a local council member, Andrea is well placed to take on this role with Kilkenny and Carlow ETB. She served as Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council in 2023/24 and has served on several school boards of management as well as the KCETB audit and risk committee. Cllr. Dalton thanked the members for their support and said that she looked forward to working with the members and the executive team to promote the work of the ETB and complimented the staff on their fantastic work with students and learners in schools and centres across the two counties.
