(Tue. 17 Jan, 2023) – \u20ac1.2 million will be pledged to youth services and voluntary youth clubs in Kilkenny and Carlow in 2023 to provide innovative, responsive and inclusive youth work programmes, supports and services for young people.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The announcement was made today by Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board\u2019s (KCETB) Youth Office at the launch of its publication Youth Office Profile 2022-2023<\/em>. KCETB\u2019s Youth Office is responsible for the provision, co-ordination, administration and assessment of youth work in Kilkenny and Carlow. Youth Services providers that will benefit from the funding include Ossory Youth Services, Carlow Regional Youth Services, For\u00f3ige DRUM Youth Project and Health Caf\u00e9, Kilkenny, and several voluntary youth clubs and groups across the two counties.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Speaking at the launch of Youth Office Profile 2022-2023, <\/em>KCETB Youth Officer Mairead Donohoe commented, \u201cKCETB is committed to promoting the value and importance of youth work and supporting high-quality youth work provision and practice. Our aim in 2023 is the continued development of good governance and oversight and working collaboratively with our funders, The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) and local youth work organisations.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

KCETB\u2019s Youth Office Profile 2022-2023 <\/em>coincides with the launch of a promotional video campaign that highlights the role and responsibility of KCETB in relation to youth work services and projects across Kilkenny and Carlow. The videos showcase the value and benefits of youth work from the perspective of young people, youth workers and youth work organisations. The video series will be broadcast across KCETB\u2019s social media platforms.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

KCETB Director of Further Education and Training Martha Bolger commented, \u201cAs the largest provider of education, training and youth work initiatives in Kilkenny and Carlow, <\/strong>KCETB is delighted to confirm that \u20ac1.2 million will be pledged to youth services and voluntary youth clubs in Kilkenny and Carlow in 2023 for youth work programmes, supports and services. Projects such as \u201c Your Place Your Space\u201d (UBU),for young people aged 10 to 24 years, is one example of the great out-of-school supports offered through our Youth Services and we look forward to continuing these, and other projects, in the year ahead\u201d.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Commenting at the launch, KCETB Chief Executive Eileen Curtis thanked the staff of the Youth Office and the members of the youth work committee for their continued support and ongoing guidance in promoting an extensive range of youth work supports, programmes and initiatives for young people across Kilkenny and Carlow.<\/p>\n
